There is a saying, ‘as old as the hills’, that states the obvious;
“Birds of a feather flock together.”
Those who are not visually impaired have most likely witnessed the validity of said statement. Those who are observant and employ a modicum of wisdom, are aware that the adage applies to most forms of life on earth, not just to winged creatures.
When one takes time to consider the depth and reality of the statement, along with all its implications, many questions that seemed to have no answer, are no longer the mystery that they once were.
It makes perfect sense that ‘all creatures great and small’ commune together. Most times to their betterment, but sometimes to their detriment.
When we look at human history with this adage in mind, it is like looking through a kaleidoscope. So much changes and yet so much remains the same. Hence the term “The Evolution of Mankind.”
As we look at the enigmatic history of ‘the human race’, we see both consistencies as well as inconsistencies. Events that were beneficial, as well as events that were detrimental. Great commonalities along with great differences. In all truth, it is amazing we have survived as long as we have! Considering our past and looking forward, our future looks dubious at best. For we are our own worst enemy!
Unabated technological advancements, along with differing spiritual views and practices, are bringing us to the precipice of self-annihilation. Instead of growing stronger together, we have grown apart. Via our selfish and self-centered mindset, the ‘Brotherhood of Mankind’ has become nothing more than an antiquated ideal. We treat each other with such contempt and disdain, that the term ‘neighbor’ is more likely a term of animosity, rather than a term of endearment.
Left to our own devices, there will be no “going to hell”, for we will have accomplished creating our own hell on Earth!!!
